How can I be a Sponsor for the AIDS Walk?

Sponsorship is a vital part of making the AIDS Walk a success and easy to do. To be a sponsor contact UCAN before August 20thst so that we can ensure our promotional materials and mailings have your logo or name printed on them. There are different levels of sponsorship that you can subscribe to, ask us for more information and we would be happy to help you.

What are the fundraising goals? What should be mine?

Due to the limited funds available from foundation, federal and state sources, UCAN relies on support from fundraising. In its 20th year, UCAN’s goal is to raise $30,000 to meet the gap in funding for our direct care services. We are expecting about 300 participants for 2010 therefore if each individual raises a minimum of $100 we will meet our goal!

How does the money I’m fundraising get spent?

The funds from the AIDS Walk campaign go towards directly impacting the lives of the community we serve. Primarily the money goes towards nutritional support, healthcare access facilitation, family preservation services, and critical financial assistance to people living with or affected by HIV/AIDS.

Are the donations to UCAN Tax deductable?

UCAN is the only 501c3 non-profit (Tax ID: 91-1401511) community-based organization in Thurston County dedicated to providing HIV/AIDS client support services and HIV prevention education programs. The Thurston County AIDS Walk benefits UCAN so please retain a copy of your recipt as your donation may be tax deductible.

How can I get more flyers, pamphlets, and/or pledge forms?

You can find downloadable copies of pledge forms and flyers on the links bar at the top of this page under forms. If you would like to request more pamphlets you can email us for a PDF file or provide us with a address to get more to you. If you’re looking for more copies keep in mind that you can also contact us to schedule a presentation on how to form teams and what UCAN and the AIDS Walk is all about. When planning a presentation we can make sure to bring along as many materials as you may need.

How can a community business or organization table at AIDS Walk?

We are currently accepting requests to table at the 20th annual AIDS Walk. If you are a partnering organization contact with information about your organization and we will provide you with further details on how to table the day of the event. If you are a business and would like to advertise and provide services then contact us about sponsorship. We are also looking for donation of water and snacks for the walkers which are traditionally provided by tabling grocery and athletic shops.

What performances will there be during the AIDS Walk?

As more performers sign up you will be able to find a updated list of events on the schedule page. If you are a performer and are interested in becoming a part of the day or night events please contact us with what your act is, why you’re interested, and ways to contact you back.
