United Communities AIDS Network (UCAN) is holding Thurston County’s 20^th annual AIDS Walk on Saturday, September 25, 2010 in the heart of Downtown Olympia.  We invite you to join us to fund the fight against HIV, remember those who have passed, and celebrate the lives of those who we strive to sustain.

At UCAN our goal is to honor life and preserve the health and vitality of our community.  We accomplish this by providing medication assistance, medical transportation, nutritional support, healthcare access facilitation, family preservation services, and critical financial assistance to people living with or affected by HIV/AIDS.  In addition, UCAN delivers HIV prevention services, education and no-cost anonymous testing to thousands of residents and youth each year.  

Thurston County AIDS Walk is a major community event that enables UCAN to deliver these important services.  AIDS Walk relies on the passion, care, and dedication of hundreds of area residents, businesses, and families.  Now more than ever we’re calling upon our communities to unite against changing HIV/AIDS epidemic. Your involvement in AIDS Walk 2010 is critical as we continue on despite reductions in charitable giving and cuts to vital public programs.  More people are living with HIV than ever before.  Your help matters as much today as it did in the beginning.

Walking in 2010 is easier than ever….

 1)    Fundraise as an individual, family, team, or business. Raising even $5 and you can help make a difference.

2)    Put on your walking shoes and show up to Sylvester Park on sept 25^th at 10:00am with the pledge forms and money in hand.

3)    Have fun and remember you’re helping keep families together and preserving the health and vitality of our community.
